Abstract

The paper focuses on financial regulation at an international level. More specifically, it looks on (a) the inherent tensions of financial regulation in the first place (b) the added complexity when entering the international sphere and (c) draws on some specific examples that help bring out several key issues of international financial regulation. Specific mention is made to the discussions around a 'global administrative law,' while the whole paper is largely coloured by the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, and its imminent effects on global financial regulation.
