Abstract

The Li 7(p, α) α reaction has been studied up to 4.8 MeV proton energy. The angular distribution has been fitted to a polynomial of the form C( E)(1+ A( E)cos 2 θ+ B( E)cos 4 θ). The coefficients A( E) and B( E) show enormous variation above 4.0 MeV proton energy. The results are discussed in terms of levels in Be 8. The results indicate also the presence of direct interaction.
