Abstract
This article was one of SCSS President Stephen M. Krason’s “Neither Left nor Right, but Catholic” columns that appeared in The Wanderer in 2022. It talks about how American liberalism in a substantial way has turned aside from its strong support of free speech decades ago to a readiness—even an eagerness—to act to suppress speech that supports positions in disagreement with leftist ideology.
