Abstract

The author explores the issue of coverage of the activities of the left movement of Argentina and Uruguay in the international communist press, in particular, in the magazine "World Marxist Review" and the newspaper "For Lasting Peace, for People's Democracy". The article shows the peculiarities of the reflection by the two leading publications of the international communist movement of the activities of the left movement of these two countries in the period from the end of World War II to the collapse of "real socialism". The differences in the coverage of the activities of the leftists of Argentina and Uruguay are highlighted. According to the author, only the occasional appearance of Argentine and Uruguayan stories in the analyzed two publications was caused by the peripheral role of these countries for the international communist movement.
