The lattice thermal conductivity of very pure aluminium

Abstract

The authors have measured the lattice thermal conductivity of very pure aluminium in the temperature range between 1.5K and 15K by suppressing the electronic thermal conductivity with a magnetic field in the Corbino geometry. Taking into account a linear term in the magnetoresistance in the extrapolation procedure, it is shown that the results are in excellent agreement with results obtained from alloying techniques and theoretical estimates.
