Abstract
We describe recent developments towards a laser-based vector network analyzer, where a femtosecond laser is used for the generation and detection of ultrashort voltage pulses on a coplanar waveguide. We show that the device allows us to obtain scattering parameters over a broad frequency range and facilitates the development of an ultrashort voltage pulse standard whose shape is exactly known.
