Abstract

The final instar larva, case, and microhabitat of the East Palearctic caddisfly species Microptila orienthula Kjrandsen & Ito 2009 (Trichoptera, Hydroptilidae) are described from Japan. The laterally compressed larva occurs in small plant tufts (primarily mosses and liverworts) in hygropetric habitats.
