Abstract
Background: Since Cancer has been treated, the dilemma of drug toxicity and non-effective low drug concentrations exists. This dilemma often can be solved by local treatment, with high drug concentrations at the tumor site, only. Back in the 1950ies the idea of isolated local treatments was born. Since then, different perfusion techniques have been evaluated and the most prominent ones still are isolated limb perfusion and liver perfusion.
