Abstract

The content of the article presents a retrospective analysis of forecasting and planning land use in the USSR. The paper shows the content of General Schemes for the use of land resources in the country and land management schemes for regions (Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republics) and administrative districts developed from 1972 to 1990. The authors discuss the possibility to revive this institution of land management and developing such documents in modern Russia.
