Abstract

The α-equations of the idealized mode coupling theory for density fluctuations in simple liquids are studied in the limit of large wavevectors, q. The Kohlrausch function Φ q(t)=ƒ q c e −Γ q(t/τ) b is obtained with Γ q ∞ q for q → ∞. This result reflects Levy's generalized central limit theorem.
