Abstract

Recently, the term third wave has spread, which refers to a new branch of economic science, which has become necessary in the global context, which is the knowledge economy. This economic model is based on a deeper understanding of the role of knowledge and human capital in the development of the economy and the progress of societies. It is an advanced economic pattern based on the effective use of multiple technologies in general, and information and communications technology, while harnessing knowledge as an essential component of production processes. This study dealt with a new type of economy based on knowledge and its role in the economic empowerment of women within Moroccan society. The problem of the study was represented by raising the question: Does the knowledge economy have a direct positive impact on building women’s capabilities or an indirect negative impact? What is new is the extent of its impact on economic and social life and on women’s lifestyle in general, which came as a result of the integrated national plans of the Kingdom of Morocco with specific timetables and goals.
