Abstract

The hot corrosion behaviour of M-21 alloy has been studied in presence of KNO 3 and K 2 CO 3 at 900°C in air. The alloy is severely attacked by KNO 3 and K 2 CO 3 due to evolution of nitrogenous as well as CO 2 gases respectively. The scale morphologies were determined on the basis of X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy techniques.
