Abstract

Le renouveau de la vie monastique, disparue d'Angleterre depuis la Reforme, a ete favorise par l'apparition, sous la poussee des circonstances, d'un certain nombre de cas de vie communautaire. Le plus notable est celui du college qui occupa le palais en ruine de King's House a Winchester. Celui-ci, regroupant entre 221 et 680 pretres francais exiles par la Revolution. La vie y etait semblable a celle d'un seminaire francais. En faisant voir cette vie communautaire en acte, on la rendait psychologiquement tolerable.
