Abstract

The kinetics of the A1→B2 phase transition in an equiatomic CuPd alloy with different initial states has been studied. Severe plastic deformation was shown to greatly accelerate formation of the B2 phase. A nearly single B2 phase with a long-range order degree η=0.97 for the CuPd alloy has been achieved. For this phase state of the alloy, the lowest reported room temperature resistivity, ρ=(5.48±0.04)×10−8Ωm, has been achieved.
