Abstract

The science library at Oberlin College is a relatively small and crowded facility of 4,513 square feet. It barely accomodates seventy-five users and holds 5,000 linear feet of shelving. The library owes its existence to a combination of factors. This paper examines those historical factors and discusses the development of library service for science at Oberlin. Current concerns and future plans for the science library are also presented.
