Abstract
In ancient Hawaii the experts in special fields were called Kahunas. They were an essential part of native life and social structure, as the Hawaiians depended upon them for advice in matters important to their welfare. The Kahuna or priest who was specifically trained in the art of praying to death was called the Kahuna Anaana. He was feared and shunned as an assassin would have been. The author presents several unusual case reports which demonstrate that sorcery is still practiced in Hawaii.
