Abstract

The partial cross section and momentum transfer distribution for the reaction K +d→K 0pp have been measured at 5.5 GeV/ c. The cross section is 174.8 ± 20.0 μb. The differential cross section in the forward direction is compared to the optical point and the KN charge-exchange scattering amplitude is found to be predominately real. A comparison of the data to Regge models and SU(3) sum rules is made.
