Abstract
The use of a 'jotter wallet' and its integration into a rural family practice residency program is described. 'Notes in the pocket' may not be a new concept to the truly reflective practitioner, but used as a ritual in the setting of a residency training program, it can be a helpful, unobtrusive, and practical tool for invoking in the learner reflection-in-action and reflection-on-action.
