Abstract

On 22nd April, 1967, the participants in the Third International Conference on Cartography visited Delft, where they were addressed in turn by Professor van der Weele, Dr. H. G. Jerie, Drs. D. Eckhard, and Dr. H. Th. Verstappen, of the International Institute for Aerial Survey and Earth Sciences, which retains the initials “I.T.C.” from its former designation of International Training Centre for Aerial Survey. A report on that visit, prepared by Cornelis Koeman, was published in the International Yearbook of Cartography (VII) for 1967. This summary of Professor van der Weele's address is taken from that report.
