Abstract

The pure rotational spectrum of a 1 Δ g oxygen in its first excited vibrational state as well as the ground vibrational state rotational spectra of 16O 18O and 18O 2 in their a states have been observed. Precise parameters describing the spectra have been determined and an accurate value has been derived for the equilibrium interatomic distance in the Born-Oppenheimer limit.
