Abstract

The Ti-SBA-15 catalyst, which was prepared according to the literature by the hydrothermal method, was used in the isomerization of α-pinene to: camphene and limonene. In this work, the influence of: Ti-SBA-15 catalyst content (5–15 wt%), temperature (80–140 °C), and reaction time (5–48 h) was studied. The most beneficial conditions were determined on the basis of the following functions: the conversion of α-pinene, and the selectivities of camphene and limonene. The most beneficial conditions were taken as: the temperature of 140 °C, the reaction time 48 h and the amount of the catalyst 15 wt%. Under these conditions, the conversion of α-pinene amounted to 60 mol%, and the selectivities of camphene and limonene amounted to 51 and 19 mol%, respectively.
