Abstract

The Islamic Perspective of Ethical and Legal Rights of Psychiatric Patients Dr. Amal I., Khalil Introduction Islam dates back for more than 1,441 years and Muslims constitute approximately 23% of the world‟s population and serve as a majority in approximately 50 countries around the globe [1]. Therefore, Muslims form the second largest religious group in the world. Islam is the dominant faith in many countries of the Middle East, Africa and Asia, and there are minority Muslim communities throughout the rest of the world. Islam is a universal religion comprising all nationalities of the world, and makes no distinction based on gender, colour, race or ethnicity.
