Abstract

The excavation of Tell Nebi Mend Trench V yielded a significant corpus of Iron Age II ceramic material. This paper presents the pottery, and places it in a broader regional context. Recognising that ceramic vessels were used in a world in which social, economic and technological factors were closely intertwined, the vessels are considered in terms of typology, technology and archaeological context, and their socio-cultural implications are discussed.
