Abstract
Due to the increase of concentrations of fine-grained materials, nitrogenous compounds, organic and mineral material and heavy metals, conventional methods do not meet treatment pond needs and relatively new treatment methods are required. With the development of nanotechnology, new nano materials, nano particles and nano catalysts are developed that havea very high efficiency in treatment pond. Advanced and modern technology methods such as nano filters (for industrial wastewater treatment), nano powders (for treating automobile exhaust gases), nanotubes (for storing a clean fuel of hydrogen) and nano catalysts are important in protecting the environment. Various applications of nanotechnology are as follow: 1. Using nano structure particles in treating pollutants, 2. removing color from drinking water, 3. water desalination, 4.
