The investigation and analysis of the preschool children's visual acuity in Qingdao

Abstract

Objective Aim By screening Qingdao kingdergarten children's visual acuity to obtain the normal visual acuity and the abnormality ratio in different groups and to analysis the refraction status of the ab-normal visual acuity.Method Stratified 10 kindergartens and got 2593 children,the children were examined by EDTRS visual chart.Results visual acuity:3 year-old group 0.57,4 year-old group 0.64,5 year-old group 0.72,6 year-old group 0.76.The mean visual acuity in different groups were improved with the ages.The ratio of abnormal visual acuity were no significant difference among the groups.In different groups, the hyperopia espe-cially the low hyperopia was dominant.Conclusion The criteria of abnormal visual acuity in preschool chil-dren may be identified by the age; the early screening is benefit for the children's visual acuity normally devel-opment.
