Abstract
IN 1957 A GROUP of British science teachers published a policy statement concerning the need for modernizing science curricula and for strengthening the place of the science subjects in the whole educational system. This was followed by separate working reports on biology, chemistry, and physics, and in 1962 the Nuffield Foundation Science Teaching Project began to develop curricula in these three areas.
