Abstract

Food allergy (FA) is increasing, yet accurate biomarkers and disease-modifying treatments are still lacking, reflecting incomplete understanding of FA pathogenesis. In a mouse model of FA, Resistin-like molecule beta (RELMb) – a gut-derived cytokine involved in both allergic responses and protection from pathogens - is dysregulated, and its deletion results in protection from food-induced anaphylaxis.
