Abstract

ABSTRACTThis text introduces the publication of the intertitles to Dziga Vertov’s 1918 compilation film Anniversary of the Revolution, which had been considered lost. Thanks to the discovery of these titles, the film has been restored in its entirety. The discovery of the poster with the film’s titles raises a number of issues concerning authorship, as well as the visual and textual rewriting of the revolutionary events of 1917.
