Abstract

The topic of environmental degradation and sustainability has long been a popular topic, but often, discussions and efforts have traditionally focused within predominantly upper-middle class, educated, Caucasian communities. The Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF), hosted by Ithaca College in New York, is an interdisciplinary, multi-media annual event that draws upon the intersections of media, social justice, and environmental sustainability. By attracting a cohort of doctoral students of color, it is a model of the nexus of theory and practice in ecosee and just sustainability.
