Abstract

Computer-mediated communication (CMC) is a fast and efficient way to exchange information with remote colleagues. Personal computers, with modems and telephone lines, can be used to send and receive messages, to access library catalogues and to trace details and locations of publications. Co-operation and collaboration between professionals in the international zoo community could ensure the success of many conservation initiatives and the use of CMC will facilitate this process.
