Abstract
Summary The case of a child with chronic bronchitisis presented in which the incidental finding of an internal thoracic muscle presented a diagnostic problem. Attention of the pediatrician and the radiologist is drawn to this shadow, which is seen on the lateral chest film and is of no clinical significance. This structure should not be confused with intrathoracic abnormalities such as neoplastic lesions or fibrous adhesions from pre-existing pleuritis.
