The interference of hemolysis on radioimmunoassay of insulin and its prevention by pre-incubation with anti-insulin serum.

Abstract

Using the back-titration method it was studied the influence of hemolysis upon radioimmunoassay of insulin. The degradation of immunoassayable insulin was increased by incubation with the increasing degree of hemolysis of plasma and with incubation period. The degradation of insulin was prevented when immediately after preparation the hemolytic plasma was incubated with anti-insulin serum.
