Abstract
A rationale for interdisc plinarity as a content modification for gifted learners is presented along with assumptions underlying the implementation of an inter disciplinary model. The importance of orientation to the disciplinary fields as a precursor to interdisciplinary studies is stressed. Finally, the Interdisciplinary Concept Model, a four-step plan for developing interdisci- plinary units is discussed.
