Abstract

Summary Restriction of food intake by mice was found to reduce tumor growth and suppress virus multiplication. Tumor growing in the brain of mice caused an inhibition of virus multiplication in this tissue. The results of this study, when viewed together with the results reported in the first paper, suggest that inhibition of Krebs-2 carcinoma by MP virus and the inhibition of MP virus by this tumor represent a form of competition for some metabolite or nutrient required for the growth of both.
