Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the intensity dependence of a free–free transition in the presence of a bichromatic laser field. Based on the first Born approximation, we calculate the differential cross section and total differential cross section versus the field intensity. This dependence relates to the momentum of the incident electron, the ratio of the two frequencies, and the phase difference between the two components of the bichromatic laser field. While the two intensity components are comparable, this dependence is the most striking. The results also show that the intensity dependence relates to the geometrical configurations between the direction of polarization of the laser fields and the incident electron.
