Abstract

Intelligent water drops methodology is one of optical methodology for settling dispute between non-circumstantial variable length bundles. It was proposed taking into account the material used and existing scheduling algorithms in optical networks. The movement of burst depends upon the optical material used and scheduling algorithms used for scheduling of bursts. Dispute generally occurs when two or more bursts try to occupy the same wavelength at same time. Intelligent water drops methodology uses optical asynchronous latching switch dependent on cross-coupled injection-locked wavelength converters. Intelligent water drops strategy manages optical burst misfortune during the conflict. Work here shows that the IWDs algorithm settles dispute through scheduling make span between variable length of burst demand for packets, asynchronous 40 Gb/s data packets with a deliberate span time of the burst.
