Abstract
The paper centered on the intellectual works of Sokoto Jihad leaders and the role of libraries in managing them. The major highlight of the paper includes the rationale for Sokoto Jihad, the Jihad leader’s role in intellectual activity and their contribution to toward the development of libraries. It also concentrates mainly on the trio of the Jihad leaders and the host of others. It further discusses in detailed the struggle made by the leaders in acquiring knowledge, teaching and dissemination of knowledge to the followers via different methods of services. The paper recommends, among others, workshops, seminars, conferences, to be done on the importance of sokoto jihad leaders, open centers of caliphate studies in the higher institutions and beyond, digitized their works for easy access online globally.
