Abstract

While feminist cultural and media studies have reinvigorated feminist scholarship in the last two decades, there is still a pressing need for an understanding of the uneven neoliberal, postcolonial, and transnational context within which knowledge and power intersect via consumerism and commodity circulation. The field of feminist cultural and media studies is still wide open for scholarly inquiries that bring into light the linkages between systems of representations and the circulation of labor, capital, and commodities.
