Abstract

[Editors note: About each mid calendar year, the Institute For Computer Sciences and Technology (ICST) publishes an annual report summarizing the results of the previous fiscal year. Because ICST plays an important role in computer s tandards both nationally and internationally, its interest and activities provide a microcosm of the world at large. Working with Ms. Radack, we chose to excerpt for publication in the journal those sections from the annual report which are both informative in their own fight and which could provide help to others in determining their programs, in obtaining information about results in order to avoid duplication, and to identify contact points if more information is wanted. The sections we chose were the introductory foreword by James H. Burrows, Director of ICST and one of our Advisory Board Members, the Activities Summary, and the Publications issued for the reporting period.
