Abstract

Foreign trade is one of the most important forms of peaceful coexistence of states. Trade contributes to a relaxation of international tensions. In his speech at a reception devoted to the opening of an international fair in Leipzig in March 1950, ComradeN. 6. Khrushchev said: attach great importance to the development of business relations between states, to the establishment and extension of trade on a mutually advantageous basis. We believe that development of trade, establishment of business contacts and expansion of ties between countries are of great economic significance and will make for the strengthening of world peace… Foreign trade is the sound and reliable foundation on which peaceful coexistence of states with differing social and economic systems can successfully develop.
