Abstract

education that has been my profession in junior high, senior high, and the university for seven years did I begin to see why education does not work. For years people have chosen composition as the one area in which no one has made any progress in terms of teaching effectiveness. There are all sorts of texts (including two of my own) for schools and colleges. And there are all sorts of classroom gimmicks to motivate writing: listen to records, walk around blindfolded, imitate your favorite author, interview another student, and act like Moby Dick.
