Abstract
The infundibular process of the desert-living rodents Meriones differs from those of other mammals particularly in having extremely large perivascular spaces. These may extend between nerve fibres which are also much more loosely packed than in other species. Typical neurosecretory fibres are present and may project into the perivascular spaces. Both microvesicles and neurosecretory granules may occur in clumps bound by a membrane, forming multivesicular or multigranular bodies.
