Abstract

The study of the propagation characteristics of very low frequency (VLF) in the ionosphere is of great research value for VLF communication and navigation. The full-wave method is used to calculate the attenuation of VLF electromagnetic waves from ground to satellite in this paper. The influence of ionospheric electron density, neutral particle density and electron temperature are easily affected by some ionospheric perturbation events. The perturbation effect on VLF propagation characteristics is computed and analyzed. The disturbances mainly affect the attenuation of the VLF through the reflective absorption layer. Electron density, neutral particle density and electron temperature rise, penetration attenuation increases.
