Abstract
The Coriolis coupling constant has been measured from the contours of the ν 4 band for SiCl 4, and improved gas phase vibrational frequencies have been obtained. The force field for the molecule has been calculated along with the mean amplitudes of vibration, Σ and L matrix elements, shrinkage effect and thermodynamic functions.
