Abstract
The solid state spectra of maleamic and fumaramic acids and their sodium salts in the region 4000 cm −-675 cm −1 are recorded. The frequencies have been tentatively assigned in terms of related molecules, in particular those of maleic and fumaric acids and their sodium salts.
