Abstract

Since 1978, the intensive pollution industry has supported China’s industrialization and urbanization. However, the development of intensive pollution industry is characterized by energy-extensive consumption, high emission and high pollution, which has caused severe environmental disruption and brought tremendous pressure on social environmental governance. The innovation-driven green transformation of intensive pollution industry will become the top priority of enterprises. Therefore, it is of great importance to explore the issue of environmental technology innovation of intensive pollution industry in China. Through literature discussion and data collection, structured and unstructured questionnaires and in-depth interviews, this paper takes China’s intensive pollution industry, which has a high demand for overall environmental technology innovation, we classified the main influencing factors. The main results are as follows: among the incentives for environmental technology innovation, “comply with regulation” “increase market share” “reduce environmental damage” and “increase product variety” scored higher total scores. The factors with high degree of recognition and consistency are “comply with regulation” “increase market share” “increase product variety” and “improve product quality”. Among the obstacles, “high costs” “lack of financing” “delayed” and “not started” scored higher total scores. Those with higher recognition and consistency are “high costs” “delayed” and “lack of information on market”.
