Abstract

Abstract A determination and quantification of the concentrations of 16 toxic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons presented in the waste gases during catalytic synthesis of carbon nanomaterials by different pyrolytic methods were carried out. The comparison of waste products obtained by two different pyrolytic methods of carbon nanomaterials synthesis at various pyrolysis conditions was made. Pyrolytic methods differ in pyrolysis unit, temperature (650 °C and 750 °C) and presence or absence of the nitrogen dilution with the propane-butane mixture. The information obtained allows to assess the degree of danger to the environment and the possible contribution of such facilities to environmental pollution, as well as to predict protective measures to reduce harmful effects.
