Abstract

The study explored the built environment’s relationship with the quality of life of older people aging in place in urban multifamily housing developments. A search was conducted in Scopus and Web of Science for relevant research, which resulted in a final selection of 41 publications. The findings show no consensus exists in the variables and instruments used to measure the built environment and the quality of life of older people aging in place. Future research should focus on developing a unified instrument to plan the interventions most suited to the needs of this collective.
