Abstract

AbstractThermodynamical parameters for the system polystyrene–toluene at 25°C. have been calculated on the basis of the Flory theory from results of viscosity measurements in toluene and in ideal solvents at 25, 34, and 45°C. for 11 fractions of polystyrene. The results obtained are compared with those given in the literature. The values obtained for thermodynamical parameters permit calculation of intrinsic viscosities at different temperatures; these values are accurate to within ±2%.
