Abstract
Abstract This paper describes an analysis which reveals the significance of surface profile and its contribution to the load capacity of centrally pivoted pads. Experiments supporting the authors’ analysis are described. In addition, variable viscosity and variable density are evaluated and their effect on load capacity is noted.
